Do you ever feel that you are somewhere between Genesis chapters 37 and 40. In the midst of circumstances that you can’t believe and would not have chosen for yourself? Is God allowing circumstances to knead you, mold you, make you into a vessel worthy of a great commission?
One of the struggles that I have is exactly how much space God needs to work. What I mean by this is how much abiding is necessary? What’s the line between His will for my life and my will for my life? If a prayer isn’t answered, is it because it just not time, or is the answer ‘no’? Or was it my will and not His?
Satan LOVES to banish peace from our heart! He knows that the Holy Spirit abides in peace and it is in peace that God accomplishes great things… not turbulent waters.
But I also urge you to pray – not only for the pastors in the DRC – but for the pastors, teachers and leaders in our country. Pray that they would teach the Truth from the Scripture and that they would ‘test’ their learnings against other scripture and against the Character of God.
The circumstances around me may not always make sense, but that He plans no harm to me (Rom 8:28). I am His masterpiece (Ephesians 2:10), and I was created to do good works that He planned long ago. I am not ‘here and now’ by accident.
Think about all of those people you know who are busy doing good, but who do not need a savior… and in fact avoid all possible occasions of any meaningful conversation about Jesus or walking by faith.
We live with a defeatist attitude and succumb to the lie of the enemy that promises trouble around every corner. We forget that we belong to the Creator of the Universe and that we are His children & He has made amazing promises to us about how to live in victory.
