How often do you get up out of bed and head off into your day without protection from the unknown and the attacks of the enemy. Ephesians 6:10-18 encourages us to be prepared and put on the Armor of God
Do you ever feel that you are somewhere between Genesis chapters 37 and 40. In the midst of circumstances that you can’t believe and would not have chosen for yourself? Is God allowing circumstances to knead you, mold you, make you into a vessel worthy of a great commission?
We live with a defeatist attitude and succumb to the lie of the enemy that promises trouble around every corner. We forget that we belong to the Creator of the Universe and that we are His children & He has made amazing promises to us about how to live in victory.
As I pondered the difference between a quick cleaning and a spring cleaning, I thought, ‘you know… this is sorta like my walk with Christ.’ I likened my devotion time every day to a quick cleaning. I spend enough time with Him to work through and ‘clean up’ the basic, easy to get to issues and sins, but I am less likely to spend time delving into those dark corners in my heart and those closed closets with junk inside.
Isn’t that sorta like our sins… if we don’t clean ’em up immediately, they begin to smell… they are there for all to see (sometimes)… or they are hidden from view but slowly and silently eating away at all that they touch…
If God cares about my washing machine, consider how much more He must care about things that are actually important in my life… health, welfare, family, children, relationships, marriage, etc.
The enemy loves to do this to faithful followers of Christ to drive a wedge between us and our Lord… not to mention distract us from our work at hand – which happens to be ministry related.
